Business Directory Listings
Business Directory : Stage 4
The keywords WEB DIRECTORY will feature quite prominently in our array of web domains and projects for the next 6 months or so, but this is the first domain that will mention BUSINESS DIRECTORY. We are NOT planning to do only web directories, but as we have made a start with this genre of website, we might as well finish the job and keep going until we are fully satisfied with results. This business directory project will combine all the knowledge and feedback we have acquired from the web directory projects 1 to 3. The projects already started, and those that are still in the making will be used to gather the required information, and then we will proceed to complete this site.
Business Directory : Site Structure
We have not finally completed and formulated the business directory project details yet, as we are still currently at stage 2 only. We have some ideas already, and some of these aspects have been setup on the domain already. In essence, we will use this domain to create a new web directory for business owners globally. The focus of our web project is maps, and this will be no different.
This is the current setup which we wish to expand on:
- Business Directory : Submit your business listing. Create a new web directory for business owners to place their website on the map, so to speak. As the global market is HUGE we do NOT want to get a watered down version of a directory, and plan to split the main area of the directory into separate countries. As such then, we will display a single map, with a lot of smaller maps linked to the directory home page.
- Business Directory : Lease a Directory. We cannot maintain every country around the globe, and will offer the various countries on the main navigation as ”lease directories”. We have completed all the technical setup ad have promoted the SEO aspect of the site to get some organic traffic. Once completed, we will offer a very affordable option to webmasters or would be online entrepreneurs to run their own slice of the pie.
- Business Directory : Article Submission. Using a similar ”directory” approach we also want to allow users that have listed their businesses the opportunity to add value to their listing by publishing articles and details about their individual business listings. We want to include these articles in the business listing, thus allowing for an ”update” option on the listing.
Business Directory : Site Concept
The idea for this business directory domain is to create the opportunity for anyone wishing to have an online directory for a specific area in the world. We do the technical setup, the overall SEO and the compliance work. We will not charge an enormous amount of money for this opportunity. Charging something to allow others to use this service is merely a way of distracting the idiots online. The business directory listings will be comprehensive and use various interactive features to enhance and enrich business listings for individual business owners. Users that decide to ”lease” a directory can also add some premium aspect to their links, and generate their own revenue from the directory.
The idea for us is not to generate revenue to retire on 
but merely taking away the technical difficulties non technical users might face when wanting to manage their own online web directory.
Business Directory : Maps within Maps
The concept of this project still needs development. We have the core of map development on some of the functioning directory projects, and in combination with the Latitude Longitude project I think we can make this approach work. The use of ”cluster management” on densely populated maps with pins on, is what needs thinking about. If we can make this ”cluster spots” open in a new mapped directory rather than try and manage the clusters, I think we can have a great product. The question I suppose is if there is any use for this type of approach. My mind is set on this approach for selfish reasons as I think using this approach will help me create the ultimate hunting safari guide and directory for Southern Africa. This project can also be replicated for other areas in the world. Am I mad Rob?
