Create Web Directory Stage 1
We wanted to do a bit more comprehensive research about the CREATE WEB DIRECTORY keywords, and include some sort 0f reference to judge the accuracy of the Google Keyword research tool. As we were working on a number of web directories, like the Sheffield Business Directory, at the same time it seemed apt to choose this search query, and start with the project. The create web directory project was crafted by using the SERP 1 page at that stage, and replicating the data into a number of header urls, and adding some related fluff to the pages. There was not really any great effort in getting the data correct, the keywords were stuffed on some pages and the density on some pages did NOT comply with what is the standards online. This is a test remember. 
The create web directory project went live, and within 24 minutes was listed as number 1 on BING. HA. Bing. I ask you. After a day the site dropped from BING completely. It returned a day later, and have stayed at the same SERP on BING ever since. SERP 3. Google however was not that easily fooled and it has taken some time to get the site to actually get to the first page and stay there.
Create Web Directory : Site Structure
Nothing complicated. Installed a single domain WordPress script. Spent a night to get all the required plugins set up, do the layout and started typing some content. Within a couple of days the create web directory site was ”completed” and was submitted to the various search engines. The create web directory site was never planned to have a number of sections, as this was purely the initial test of the project. Most of the projects we are working on ”spreads” the content over a couple of sections allowing for an easier way to keep adding related content and data. As a single install of WordPress this site and project have done very well so far.
This was also the first project where we installed some Google AdSense on. What a fiasco to start off with. The ads will not show. Then the ads show. Then Google blocks the account until they have sent you a pin number. Then they unblock it again. The ads is still NOT highly relevant to the content, and the options to change this is more complicated than what is actually necessary. It has on the flip side however already paid for the create web directory domain name for the two years.
Site Concept : Create Web Directory
The concept of this create web directory site is nothing more than to run a couple of experiments and see what happens. Reading SEO tutorials online and listening to what all the experts say doesn’t mean you always get the right answer. As all search queries, competition levels for the searches and the varied results is totally unique, every experiment online can return a different result. Rather than focus on what you should be doing, you can always spend £20 and a bit of time to create these experimental stages for yourself. I would NOT recommend that you do ANY of these experimental projects on a domain that you want to retain and have some serious purpose for.
This create web directory project has offered the search engines some varied opportunities. So far, most of what I was lead to believe is the truth can be questioned. Of course doing this on a single project does not justify a scientific approach at all, and the results can never be outed as definitive. That is why this ”project” has a number of stages, and every stage will take a lesson from the previous version, and grow. The second stage is already under way, and the changes have meant that the results returned in a short period is COMPLETELY different.
Short term however means very little. This create web directory project will continue for at least the next three years allowing for a better opportunity at realistic results.
Google AdSense : Create Web Directory
As mentioned I have never used the Google AdSense on a web domain before. I have always thought that no one actually clicks any of the ads. Of course I was making an assumption based on my own browsing habits, and didn’t stop for a moment to think about the broad user base on the web. The only pages we have published so far with any AdSense on it has already returned some revenue. It is not enough to retire with but then the keywords and the traffic isn’t adequate to return a decent revenue stream. We have in the meantime obtained a couple of new domain names and will shortly publish a couple of new sites, that will be focused on the AdSense element.
