Custom DirectoryPress Plugins

We have spent some time in considering developing custom DirectoryPress plugins. After all, this theme for wordpress makes web directories easy. Using some different web directory scripts there was some additional functions which we thought could be useful. Having a number of plugins in mind for the range of PremiumPress themes, as well as some generic wordpress plugins, we thought now would be the time to set the frame for ”releasing” our first plugin.

We have set the date for our first directorypress plugins release on the 1st March 2012. This plugin for DirectoryPress specifically will be called the Fetch Meta Plugin.

DirectoryPress Plugins : Fetch Meta

The first of the directorypress plugins fulfills an semi automated process in the submit process. When you add a link to your wordpress web directory merely copy pasting the url you wish to list willl ”activate” the process.

• The fetch meta plugin will ”call” the meta tags, if available,  from the specific url you are listing.
• The fetch meta plugin the adds these fields, in your submit form, to the All In One SEO plugin.
• You can manually edit these fields before submission as well.
• The fields covered are title, description and keywords.

You can see the live fetch meta demo site in action here. Just ADD LISTING, and skip to the url bit. Copy Paste a url, and tab, or click somehwere out of the url ”box”. Within seconds you should see the titles appear, if available.

DirectoryPress Plugins : All In One SEO

Our DirectoryPress plugins will initially focus on integration with the All In One SEO Plugin. We have found this plugin ample for our SEO requirements. The fetch meta plugin will be FREE, so you can easily edit and add different SEO plugins integrated with your fetch meta plugin. If you are going to edit it and make it better, let us know and we will happily share.

We will be releasing some more free custom directorypress plugins through 2012.
