WordPress Directory Theme
WordPress Directory themed sites in the portal has a lot of varied links to various related web domains. This is by default the first ”type” of project we became involved with. What you will notice from the projects we start with, is not a specific focus only on the theme of the sites like wordpress directories, but additional domains set up that can help with SEO related improvement of various keyword searches in relation to the themed sites we are busy developing. The CREATE WEB DIRECTORY project is no different. It started off as an experiment in relation to a 8100 monthly search query, and have developed now to something we could, and will, have a new look at.
The keywords WORDPRESS with variations of DIRECTORY and WEB DIRECTORY and WEB DIRECTORIES have come up quite generously within the search results for the domain. Of course this is an interesting and rewarding aspect, as we have put a lot of work into the backend work of various web directories we created with WordPress, like Sheffield Business Directory. The issue is now to consolidate these keywords and drive some sort of permanent placement in the SERP for these keywords.
WordPress Directory User Focus
As I originally explained (tried to) the concept that is deployed on the sites is something we have defined as SEO SUR. Our initial focus has been on the search engines specifically. We need to get some sort of SERP for keywords and check the spread of the keywords for impressions in searches for both the intended, and unintended keywords. As the site is now 4 months old, this has spread nicely, and it is almost time for the website to get an update. The key concept that now needs addressing is what users are looking for on the site. Why do they click the link? What do they want to read? What are they reading? This is where the analytical response to the aspect of SEO SUR comes into play.
WordPress Directory is not a competitive query, and we are featuring as yet nowhere for the search. When you start adding third and fourth keywords to the search query however, the results are coming in spread widely. The focus in the whole process of SEO SUR is firstly to achieve the spread of impressions for multi-ple keyword phrases, and then selectively focus on reducing the number of keywords required to SERP in the queries containing minimal keywords. This is the current research and development that we are busy with on the domain.
WordPress Directory Service
We do have an additional domain already set up to drive our ambition for the WORDPRESS DIRECTORY related searches forward, and this will be called into action early in 2012. In the interim though, and with a specific focus on WordPress Directories, we have developed a number of functions which now needs completing, and adding to a more commercial site where users can access these WordPress Directory Functions exclusively. These are some of the features we have developed, and we are actively testing and tweaking at the moment.
- WordPress Directory : Batch Geocoding : Importing data base files in various formats, and converting these data files to WordPress directory data files, whilst integrating the geocding process to ”output” geocoded WordPress directory based results. These include the headers to replicate the generic/standard WordPress file names.
- WordPress Directory : Meta Tags to All in One SEO : Most data files that can be used in a WordPress Directory would not contain specific keywords required for the SEO benefits of your web directory. We have created a meta tag grabber, which gets the tags from the url you are adding to the web directory, and adds these to the corresponding All in One SEO plugin fields in the WordPress database.
- WordPress Directory : Automate Population Process : We can add all the data from the data file into the WordPress database as ”drafts”. Not yet published, this format allows you to simulate a generic populating process adding maximum benefit to the SEO compliance and technical ”communication” with the search engines. This process can be implemented from a secondary domain, and the SEO tags can be manually changed on the same process.
- WordPress Directory : Google Maps : Have now created countless street view functions, directions, single maps, info windows and also the multiple marker tool as a navigation system for web directory sites made with WordPress. We can manipulate the data into the WordPress directory and give you a complete dynamic approach to map data management.
We are currently still developing some additional functions, testing the current versions and making small tweaks to improve on the various scripts. We are ACTIVELY seeking suggestions, ideas and request for any functionality users might want to add to WordPress directories. The research aspect of the keywords are ongoing, but the service provisions we are developing is some of our own requests, considering the multitude of scripts we have tried and experimented with. We are NOT focused exclusively on directories, just interested in seeing if we can match all requirements to custom integration with the WordPress Directory Theme.
WordPress Directory : New Features
There are some areas which we are working on to improve, and to add something else. The images, and the API included with the standard WordPress Directory Theme does not function that well with all the automated processing. We have changed this to the SHRINK THE WEB API, and this seems to have done the job. At this stage, and as we are still only using very limited databases, we have not yet had to upgrade to facilitate our requirements. I am sure that this might change with the new project where we have quite a number of listings. The images seemed to have resolved with as many as 1000 posts updated at a time.
The next feature we are dicussing and planning is a map related function to extend mapping abilities. We want to include the ability for every listing to have a multiple marker pin map, which can be populated from as epcific domain name, or added on to their site directory as an additional functionality. We have completed the process in bits, and will soon be implementing this on a new wordpress directory project to test the features we have enabled. This should see the final tweaks for the wordpress directory project we will be doing in the 2011 year.
