WordPress setup

Everybody that has ever used WordPress will propably understand some of the settings. Most of the control panel is quite easy to understand. For the purpose of the directory setup we will only change basic settings and the rest of the settings you must research and check if you need to alter them. It isn’t geeky at all, and you can pretty much understand most of the control panel.

If you get stuck, just head over to your favourite search engine, and search for the specific control.

Directory WordPress Setup

You will save yourself some time and hassle if you just check for the following.

• Do you have the latest version of WordPress installed? If not you will see an option to automatically upgrade.
• Check your privacy settings. No point in allowing search engines yet. You can always change the function to allow the search engines after you have finished your site.
• All the plugins updated. Usually at this stage it would only be Akismet that might require an update. We recommend that you update, and obtaining your unique key (link in admin panel after akismet activated). This is an excellent add on for combatting spam.
• Take a break and have a cuppa
